In addition, we offer a Summer School Age Program for children 5-10 years old. Bright Beginnings is a participant of Quality Stars NY rating system.

We use a Creative Curriculum framework, Ages and Stages and Core Body of Knowledge to facilitate learning and child development. Our center offers a caring and nurturing environment that will challenge your child’s imagination and creativity. Our curriculum includes:
• Dramatic Play
• Fine and Gross Motor Skills
• Field Trips
You will find 6 spacious rooms that meet each age group’s developmental needs. Four of the classrooms have age appropriate bathrooms, and each room is divided into interest areas that promote imagination learning and creativity.
Gross Motor Skills Room
In addition to 6 spacious classrooms, the four spacious and enclosed playgrounds the center has a “Big Room” for play, gym class and gross motor skills activities. This room is particularly useful during the extreme cold winter days. Children enjoy listen and move activities, dancing, riding bikes, and playing with small and large balls.
The center also offers 4 separate, age appropriate and fenced in playgrounds, each with toys, age appropriate equipment for climbing, running, riding bikes, and creative play.
To be in compliance with the Office of Children and Family Services. Our staff prepares developmentally appropriate activities, both teacher and child directed, as part of the program’s daily schedule and curriculum.
Pre-school children ages 3-5 years enjoy a bus ride with their teachers to the Y once a week for swimming lessons. The YMCA bus has integrated car seats that meet the safety needs for transporting children. Our goal is to help your child become comfortable in the water and encourage them to become independent enough to try some swimming skills. Swim lessons are taught by the Y certified Aquatic Staff. An observation area is located up on the first floor for parents who wish to observe their son or daughter. School Age Children during the Summer months have swim twice a week.
