Supporting Our Neighbors

Social Responsibility

is Empowering

In 2017 the Plattsburgh YMCA allocated over $100,000 toward its financial assistance program. At the YMCA no one is turned away for an inability to pay, and this program allows everyone to have access to the YMCA. More and more people have come to depend on memberships for improved health and wellness, and the Y’s aquatic programs provide a vital lifesaving service in our lake community. An increasing number of families require assistance with child care in order to obtain or maintain their full or part time jobs.

The percentage of families in the counties we serve of Clinton, Franklin and Essex that live below the poverty line is an average 41%. The Plattsburgh YMCA is strongly positioned to welcome and include all families as members.

The annual support campaign ensures that financial assistance can continue to be provided as needed. It ensures equal access to this important community resource, and ultimately the annual support campaign lends itself to a vibrant, healthy YMCA community.

DID YOU KNOW -Over 350 families received some form of financial assistance through the Y to attend programs, summer camp, child care and membership..
